Does my policy cover COVID-19?

Yes. If your company has group health insurance with Plum, COVID-19 is covered.

If your company has bought a COVID-19 policy via Plum, COVID-19 is covered.

Who can claim for COVID-19?

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been hospitalized for more than 24 hours, then you are eligible to claim for the same.

Are home care or home treatment packages covered?

This varies based on your policy. Most policies do not cover home care treatments. If you want to know more, you can reach out to us using the chat icon in the bottom right corner.

Are additional expenses (PPE kit, medicines, oxygen cylinders) covered?

Not all expenses are covered. However, this differs based on your policy type. PPE kits have a limit on them depending on the policy. If you want to know more, you can reach out to us using the chat icon in the bottom right corner.

If I was hospitalized but the tests were negative, can I claim my insurance?

This depends on the reason for hospitalization. You will need to obtain a prescription from the treating doctor confirming that it was a life-threatening situation and that it demanded hospitalization.

Can I claim for COVID-19 tests?

Yes. You can claim for test costs if it is positive and subsequently leads to hospitalization. This will be claimed under Pre & Post hospitalization cover. You cannot claim for negative tests.

Should I get tested only at a network hospital?

You can get tested at any government-approved facility.

Are Covid medication costs covered?

If you are hospitalized for more than 24 hours, then medication costs are covered.

However, if your company has opted for OPD benefits or if your policy covers home health care, then these costs can be claimed even if there was no hospitalization.

Can I claim for quarantine facility (hotels, schools, etc) costs?

No. You cannot claim for quarantine facility expenses.

Can I use my super top-up to claim for COVID-19?

Yes. Super top-up covers COVID-19 treatment but note that there is a 30-day waiting period from the purchase date. The claim can be made only after crossing the deductible limit. Please read more details here.
